Junk Bonanza 09!

Fun Minneapolis themed art and vintage wares

Minneapolis themed art and vintage collectables

What a day… I was thrilled to attend this year’s Junk Bonanza in it’s new location at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN.  This annual antique, vintage wares, art sale, and junk market combined was fantastic, one of Ki Nassauer’s biggest and best yet!  Among the highlights were book signings (by Ki Nassauer, Matthew Mead, and The Farm Chicks’ Serna Thompson) and a blog party.  Matthew Mead and Ki Nassauer are style experts who are in the process of creating a new magazine, Flea Market Style, that will be loved by those who love the thrill of a good flea market, great vintage finds, or the discovery of good old junk that can be repurposed into wonderful new decor and collectables.   The new magazine is slated for an early spring debut, so I urge you to keep up with it’s progress at fleamarketstylemag.blogspot.com

Here are a few more photos of the day…

A few shots from the stylish booth from Mustard Moon… vintage tin, metal and some white all mixed in for a delightfully neutral palette.

Hello Gretchen! Yes, I remember you, I bookmarked your blogspot shortly after the Junk Bonanza, have quickly read a few posts, but haven’t left a comment yet… I know, shame on me! I loved your jewelry… you had it displayed so great. It was wonderful meeting so many of you at the Junk Bonanza’s blog party, it is nice to actually meet some of the fantastic-ly creative people that I try to follow.
Thank you so much for visting my blog-in-progress, I am trying to post more often, but also have this blog in the design phase. I was on blogger for quite a while and have been transitioning to my own hosted blog site, so please stop by often for updates as I learn how to implement them to make my blog more stylish and user-friendly. :)
Thanks again and remember to live creatively!

  2. Hey Erica-
I am finally getting to some of the business cards I collected at Junk Bonanza in September, and came across yours. I am off to the French Fleas’ October sale soon, so will have to come back and read your entire blog later. It looks really fun and I truly enjoyed the photos you posted of the other booths at Junk Bonanza. I didn’t get to see most of Jane’s booth, until a lot had sold, and I didn’t see the Junk Gypsy booth at all. Would love to see more photos of their space.
I met you at the blogging party and was the jewelry designer. I was probably grumbling, because I got there at 2 p.m. when they were announcing the winners, and it was basically over. lol However, I did meet you at the party and I hadn’t met you before. The other 3 gals had been to our booth earlier in the day, and Donna is a Junk Market friend from that site.
Looking forward to coming back often and seeing what you’ve shared in the past.
    Have a great day-
    Gretchen Schaumann
